Book Club: Healing Trauma Workbook (Previously Recorded)

Book Club Details:

  • The Healing Trauma Workbook Book Club met once a month for three months to work through Somatopia Founder Dr. Albert Wong's newly published book The Healing Trauma Workbook: A Roadmap to Help You Move Forward After Trauma.

  • The book provides guidance on reconnecting with oneself holistically after trauma has left its wounds. It explores how trauma residually echoes through one's spirit, relationships and even physically within the body. Through its compassionate teachings, the workbook aims to lift the oppressive haze of shame and help readers regain sensation in numb places to rediscover their own vibrant aliveness. This book club offers a safe space to learn about the vulnerable work of healing trauma.

  • At each pre-recorded meeting, Dr. Wong gives a short presentation on key concepts from the book. Then there is interactive time to complete exercises together from the workbook, putting the teachings into practice. Finally, the group has open discussion about their experiences working with the material and supporting each other on the journey of healing.

  • The live meetings were recorded in Spring of 2024 and are available for your viewing

  • PLEASE NOTE:  Book not included, please purchase here. Sessions are pre-recorded.

Editorial Reviews for the book

Imagine a wise and supportive friend who takes you by the hand and guides you step by step through healing your trauma, from understanding what happens to the brain in trauma, to processes of healing (including inner child work and healing shame), to moving forward into your fuller life. More than a roadmap, this book compassionately charts a way through the emotional ups and downs of the trauma healing journey, like a warm friend who is with you all the way. The deeper message is self-love and self-acceptance, and it shines through on every page. To read this book is to feel supported, encouraged, and — yes, loved.... When you read this book, you know that that is true.

Ann Weiser Cornell, PhD, author of "The Radical Acceptance of Everything"

A multi-dimensional masterpiece that weaves rich metaphors and vignettes with a profusion of accessible practices... Albert Wong captures the often-ineffable aspects of trauma in a way that feels deeply relational, compassionate, and hopeful, empowering both trauma survivors and helpers alike with a clear path to liberate the self from trauma's legacy.

Jean-Paul Eberle, LMFT, Program Chair, CIIS Somatic Psychology Department
